Check out the full Nova Episode: Mind Over Money

In the aftermath of the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression, NOVA presents “Mind Over Money”—an entertaining and penetrating exploration of why mainstream economists failed to predict the crash of 2008 and why we so often make irrational financial decisions. The program reveals how our emotions interfere with our decision-making and explores controversial new arguments about the world of finance. In the face of the recent crash, can a new science that aims to incorporate human psychology into finance—behavioral economics—help us make better financial decisions?

EAC Meeting Tomorrow

How is everyone doing today? Hopefully well. Last week we had another open forum discussion on initiatives and ideas members had to better our campus/community. Here is a summary of those:

  • UTPA Community Garden
  • Meatless Mondays
  • In-Class Recycling/Campus-Wide Recycling
  • Solar Powered Light Poles for the Dark Areas of Campus

We also discussed future events that would again, better our campus, community, and planet:
  • Eco-Friendly Fundraiser for St. Patrick’s Day
  • Anti-Fracking Campaign - Host a Screening of Gasland
  • Eco Friendly Work Out/Recycling Classes at the Rec During Earth Week
We will have another open forum for ideas/suggestions from members this week due to the bad weather that may have inhibited members from coming out last week. We will also discuss an upcoming fundraiser (Fruit Cup Sale), possible movie night, and future outings for the month. We will also be having fun activities tomorrow so hopefully we see you tomorrow! Take care everyone, be safe, and stay green. :)
